State Senator Dan Rutherford of Chenoa says he's a grown adult but he felt the excitement of a child while spending three hours at an invitation-only Presidential Christmas party at the White House last night. Rutherford was a Bush delegate for both Republican conventions.
Rutherford took his 17-year-old nephew, Kaleb to the party that did not feature any celebrities, but mostly diplomats and government dignitaries. He tells WJBC's Laughlin and Reynolds, he was awestruck by being in the presidential dining room and a special map room.could be looking at our first major snowfall of the season tonight and tomorrow, as a line of snow showers stretching across much of Missouri and Iowa makes its way toward Central Illinois, where 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected. Weather Watch meteorologist Eric Gaumer Denny Marquardt of Denny's Doughnuts tells WJBC's Laughlin and Reynolds, starting next Tuesday -- Denny's will give $5 off each $8 coffee cake sale to the WJBC Brotherhood Tree. You can order three coffee cakes for $20 -- and $15 will go to the Brotherhood Tree.
For now, Denny's is only taking advance orders.
